Current position: Lead Environment Artist, Visceral Games EA, Montreal
The initial reason for entering into the games industry was to make visually stunning and emotionally engaging virtual playgrounds based on the imagination or the real world. This still motivates me today. My main interest is the look and design of game environments but I am also interested in how all the visual components of a game can be designed both aesthetically and functionally to provide a cohesive and immersive experience.
Whilst supervising and directing other artists I have found a lot of satisfaction in identifying and helping to develop the individual skills and qualities in other artists that can be brought together to complete the larger tasks.
I also continue to practise hands-on and enjoy developing my own skills and knowledge of both digital techniques relevant to today’s game industry and traditional 2d skills.
